Former shooting lodge reborn

Old Milton is a former shooting lodge renovated to a spectacular standard. Situated in the foothills of Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park, it is the perfect destination for action packed family gatherings, highland holidays with friends, or a launch pad for adventures into one of the most beautiful parts of the United Kingdom.

Owned by a family that have been coming on holiday to the area for twenty-five years, the house has been lovingly re-designed to provide comfort and elegance in the heart of the Highlands.

The house sleeps up to sixteen people accommodated in seven double bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a self-contained bothy. There is also a charming shepherd’s hut available at no extra cost. The house blends tradition with modern practicality: roaring log fires and wood paneled rooms meet a state of the art kitchen, wifi throughout, and a hot tub to sooth tired muscles after a day on the hills.

The Grounds

Old Milton’s defining feature is the private nine-hole golf course. The course is kept in immaculate condition by the greenkeeper, and each hole boasts stunning views of the Monadhliath Mountains, the Cairngorms, the Inshriach Marshes, and the Spey Valley.

The house also has a tennis court, a pond stocked with trout, fishing access to the Spey, clay pigeon shooting, and a croquet lawn.

The Area

Nestled in to the western edge of the Cairngorm Mountains, overlooking the famous River Spey, Old Milton sits in some of the most spectacular scenery Scotland has to offer. Only two hours by car from Edinburgh, and forty-five minutes from Inverness (the nearest airport), Old Milton is in a secluded location but only ten minutes from the local services of Kingussie, fifteen minutes from the A9, and twenty minutes from the outdoor activities hub of Aviemore.
